Course Summary

This training and assessment program is designed to help students obtain their Medium Rigid (MR) vehicle licence. Most participants complete the training and assessment within one day, depending on their existing driving experience and competency.

A Medium Rigid licence allows you to drive a rigid vehicle with two axles and a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 8 tonnes or more, such as certain trucks and buses. It also permits you to tow a trailer with a GVM of up to 9 tonnes, as well as operate any vehicle that falls under a Light Rigid (LR) licence class.

The course fee is $1250, which includes training and assessment conducted in our vehicle.

We now have three MR trucks available in auto and manual/syncromesh!

MR vehicles include:

• Trucks and buses with a GVM more than eight tonnes and two axles

• Any towed trailer must not weigh more than nine tonnes GVM.

To apply for an MR licence, you must:

1. Have held a class C licence, (except a learner licence) or equivalent for one year or more. Any time you've spent on a P1 licence counts, but you can't practice to drive an MR vehicle, or upgrade to an MR licence until you hold a P2 or full class C licence

2. Pass the MR knowledge test

3. Pass an eyesight test

4. Obtain a learners log book and then...
