Two Day - TLI – Training Package. The units that we cover in this course are:
TLIB0002 Carry out vehicle inspection
TLIC3010 Pilot or escort oversized and/or over massed loads
TLIE3009 Use pilot and escort communication
TLIF3013 Coordinate breakdown and emergencies
TLIF3060 Control traffic as a pilot vehicle operator
* This course is trained and assessed as a cluster of units.
Bridge Video Supervision is also covered for Western Australia requirement only – This is a separate 1-day full practical session at an additional cost
TLIH3002 Plan and Navigate Routes for Northern Territory only requirement
The two (2) days has a mix of time spent in our training room where you are taught the theory side of Piloting and outside, completing simulated practical activities and some assessments.
How long before I get my Heavy Vehicle Pilot Licence from Western Australia?
Western Australia only - Once Main Roads receives all relevant documentation, it will take up to 20 working days to complete the completion of the gazette process. There is no mutual recognition for Western Australia

To enrol in a Pilot Course, all individuals must meet the following requirements:
• Must hold a current non-probationary valid Driver’s Licence
• Pass an Assessment of fitness to drive for Commercial Drivers Examination
• Must be physically fit
• Must have good mobility (ie full use of both shoulders and elbows)
• Must be competent in numeracy and literacy skills
• Complete an application form and pay an administration fee to the appropriate state you are applying to
Recommended: Hold a current and valid basic first aid qualification
